Grants & Bursaries

The Society makes grants available for Etonians to travel on expeditions that can deepen their faith and contribute to social justice around the world.  Some boys choose to participate in the Order of Malta Volunteers pilgrimage to Lourdes in the Summer.

In addition to sponsoring boys who have a very clear goal in participating as helpers in Lourdes, the Society also makes travel grants in support of other experiences for boys who would like to contribute to society in other ways – for example, in 2007 we sponsored a B Blocker who went to Peru and spent time teaching English in a local school.  Such undertakings are also in line with the Society’s policy on helping boys “put something back” after their time at Eton.  It is important to stress that all grants are made on the strict understanding that there is a “social justice” element to the programme being supported and that written reports are made to the Secretary once the trip is complete.

The grants and bursaries are restricted to those boys who are currently at the school.
